It is important for the law enforcement agencies to have a diverse work force because that allows to have a trust in the community. The community is diverse in nature as they are people who belong from various background, race, religion. If the member of the community see that the law enforcement agencies have a diverse work force then they have this assurance that they are well represented and the chances of any wrong will be less. The main job of law enforcement officers is to serve the community and their jobs become difficult if they cannot communicate in an effective manner. Having diversity in the force and providing diversity training makes sure that the officers are ready to handle any cultural conflicts (Gibbs, 2019).
